Hey gang! I’m Wendy and as you can probably tell, my two favorite activities are baking and fitness.  What a combination right?  I’m proof that you can have your cake and eat it too.

I grew up in Northeast Philadelphia (George Washington High graduate) but now call Lower Makefield, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, my home.  Most of my content is baking related, but  I put a healthier spin on baking by using whole food, non-processed, clean eating ingredients.   Desserts can be guiltlessly enjoyed as long as they are consumed in moderation.  This is in  addition to eating a healthy and well-balanced diet and by keeping an active lifestyle.  Which is what I do.

While many of my recipes are clean eating, some (my older blog posts) are not. I’m not here to lecture you on what you should and shouldn’t eat and in most of my clean eating recipes I also include the non-clean eating counterpart.  You’ll also find  vegan recipes and/or vegan options in some recipes for my vegan friends and followers.

With all of my baking you’re probably wondering how I keep my shape. I’m an NPTI certified Personal Trainer and ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor.  In addition, I also enjoy weight lifting, running with my kangoo jumps, meditation, traveling, and crafting. With more than a decade training in martial arts, I earned my 2nd degree black belt in MMA and an orange belt in  Krav Maga.

  1. Hi there!
You probably know me from my website, but you’re anonymous which is totally fine! I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed reading through this baking blog. I subscribed my daughter to it – she’s a pastry chef/artist. Your work is beautiful! Totally amazing.
    Take care,
    Anna

  2. I am so impressed with your work! I fundraise an event for suicide prevention in Philadelphia and it’s a masquerade ball and your cupcakes would be perfect. Do you take requests? and Where are you located? Please email me more information at Brittanypeppelman@yahoo.com thank you!

  3. Hello,

In your Crum Bun Recipe, you state, “The recipe I posted here is not exactly the same one I used but it is very good. The recipe I use has an ingredient that is hard to get and expensive and many of the readers here may not want to pay a lot of money to buy the item”…….May I ask what that ingredient is?.

    1. The ingredient is 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom added into the crumb topping. Cardamom is only available in a handful of markets near me and it’s expensive, close to $10 for a bottle. It adds a good flavor to the crumb topping.
